Re: Should all PL teams simply mug off all domestic cup competitions?
I just 'enjoy' watching West Ham play, so I don't care how many games we play, just so long as it is roughly the same amount as other teams in Europe.

The more competitions we're in, the more chance of a trophy and I've waited long enough since 1980 to win another one! Gotta be in it to win it apparently.

I wouldn't have a problem if the League Cup was scrapped and I don't doubt most, if not all, the PL clubs thought the same. Assume it's not that straightforward though.

But the media (viewers) demand that one, if not both of the FA Cup finalists always be from the PL Big 6 list, otherwise it's not worth selling advertising for.

The League Cup has no prestige these days.
Maybe it should be be restructured to a cup competition featuring the 72 league teams and the three National League divisions.
As for the FA Cup, no way should replays be abolished. On the contrary, I'd prefer them to be reinstated for every round, with the possible exception of the final.

I’m not sure but I thought the cups are obligatory aren’t they? I don’t think PL Cubs can avoid them if they wanted to. I thought that was why reserves play in cups

A sad day when people are thinking of writing off the FA Cup !
I suppose it all started to go down hill when Man Utd decided not to participate the cnuts....They should have banned them for life after that.

Keep the FA cup, don't bother with the other one, whatever it's called nowadays. Maybe make that one an under 21s competition.

Domestic cups are a lot better than the borefest of the European competitions for me.

They’d be great if they were a straight knock out with no seeding, but obviously as the game is only about money now they are fucking awful.

Each to their own.

...unless we draw Kidderminster away.

All the other PL teams should, leaving us a clear path to win it.
